We’re getting excited for our spring time weddings here at Erin McLean Events. To get your own spring wedding inspiration enjoy these shots of our springtime shoot in Duke Gardens.

We chose cheery spring time colors such as soft blues, creamy yellows,  bright periwinkles, and pops of pink along with plenty of soft white touches to balance our color palette.

Milk glass vases like these make for great table decor. You can mix and match a variety of heights, shapes and patterns to create a truly custom look. Plus, colorful flowers will stand out against the creamy white glass.

Chiavari chairs, a favorite among brides because of their timeless look, allow you to customize the seat covers to seamlessly match your wedding colors. Here we added beautiful lilies to each chair for an extra touch of spring inspired decor.

An antique watering can offers a touch of vintage inspired fun to the decor.

We chose green favors of potted moss with dainty lace detailing as the guest favors for our springtime shoot. Get creative with your wedding favors. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have creative favors that will be memorable.

Duke Gardens is a gorgeous setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and of course bridal shoots like we did here! The gardens offer both indoor as well as outdoor venue options.

Wearing a fun pair of heels is a great way to let your personal style show through on your wedding day.

Hope this wedding inspiration got you just as excited for springtime as we are!

Cameron & Dannel were married in a perfectly elegant wedding ceremony in All Saints’ Chapel followed by a classy Downtown Raleigh reception at The Cardinal Club. Romantic elegance met city class when it came to this bride and groom’s big day!

Sweet Life Photography was there to capture every unforgettable moment of Cameron & Dannel’s wedding day.

Cameron chose lovely, classic touches for her dress and accessories such as the pearl brooch on her dress and her ivory peep-toe pumps.

The English Garden provided the florals.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

All Saint’s Chapel is a gorgeous and timeless venue for wedding ceremonies. We added arrangements of baby’s breath and white rose petals to add a soft, romantic look.

An important thing to remember on your wedding day is to take a few moments to be alone as a couple and just take in the meaning and significance of your wedding day.

One of the best ways to save money when planning your wedding is to chose decor and florals that can be used at both your ceremony site as well as your reception site. for Cameron and Dannel’s big day we used these lovely baby’s breath arrangements at both All Saint’s Chapel and The Cardinal Club.

White pillar candles of varying heights, alongside a handful of rose petals are an affordable way to create lovely centerpieces.

Sweet Memories Bakery never fails to deliver cakes that are equal parts charming and delicious!

A simple color palette and dainty piping create a cake to perfectly compliment Cameron and Dannel’s elegant wedding day.

The Cardinal Club is located high above the streets of Downtown Raleigh, offering a breath-taking view of the nighttime Raleigh skyline. Plus this stunning staircase is the perfect place for bride and groom to steal a quick kiss before entering their elegant evening reception.

Both N.C. State alums, Cameron & Dannel wanted to include Howling Cow ice cream in their reception fare. What a perfectly sweet addition to a true Raleigh wedding!

Congratulations, Cameron & Dannel!

Bridal Buzz- Bay 7

We had a great time at The Bridal Buzz show this past February. The bridal show took place at one of our favorite reception venues in Durham, Bay 7. This gorgeous venue was the perfect spot for a bridal show all about “the urban chic bride.” Thanks to Dara Blakeley Photography for this shot of our booth.
This was for the “urban chic” bride. It was such a fantastic group of vendors who brought style and creativity to this stunning show!

We met such wonderful brides and cannot wait to work with you!

For our booth design we wanted our booth be natural tones and textures, that also our found in our logo and on our website.  I love working with Neutral tones like tans, cremes, browns, and greens. It is so important to mix different textures in this palate so that it is interesting to the eye. I found these fabulous chandeliers from Anthopoligie and these flowers were created by the English Garden.

I can’t wait for next year!

xoxo, Erin

Sarah and Nick were married this past December in what could only be called a perfect wintry wedding. With a ceremony at Fairmont and a reception following at 1705 Prime, their Raleigh wedding was lovely from start to finish.

The bride’s delicate pumps with bows added a classic ladylike touch.

The English Garden did these gorgeous floral designs.

The junior bridesmaid carried this pomander style bouquet. Different from traditional bouquets, the pomander is a ball of flowers hanging from a decorative ribbon. This variation from traditional bouquets is also a great option for flower girls or other bridesmaids.

With the exception of the junior bridesmaid, the other three bridesmaids carried simple bouquets of baby’s breath which were perfectly complimented by their soft sage green dresses.

Fairmont United Methodist Church is a traditional wedding ceremony venue in the heart of Raleigh. Towards the end of the ceremony the guests were given candles to hold- a perfect touch for the a wedding in the holiday season.

What a fantastic vintage inspired shot from Sweet Life Photo.

The bride and groom chose to incorporate a “wishing tree” into their reception decor. This gorgeous tree, designed by The English Garden, was accompanied by little tags with which guests could write congratulations and wishes for the bride and groom.

And the little wish tags even featured the couple’s new last name initial.

Rocky Top Hospitality provided the delicious reception cuisine including mini pizza slices and BBQ biscuit sandwiches. As always Rocky Top did a spectacular job on the food…all the guests loved it!

We love Rocky Top Catering for Triangle Weddings! DJ Ken Holmes from Joe Bunn DJ Company kept the dance floor packed!

The delicious cakes were made by Cinda’s Creative Cakes.

The bride and groom also chose to show alma mater spirit with a delicious Wake Forest Deacon mascot cake and a Virginia Tech Hokies mascot cake. They looked almost too good to eat!

1705 Prime is a perfect Raleigh wedding reception venue with plenty of space for tables, mingling, buffets, a bar, and of course of dance floor!

1705 Prime is one classy southern wedding reception venue. It’s traditional on the outside, but contemporary on the inside.

Congratulations, Sarah & Nick!

I don’t know about you, but I mostly watch the Oscars for the Red Carpet portion. To be perfectly honest I usually fall asleep by the time the Best Picture award happens!

The wonderful people at Brides.com found these great options.

I loved Anne Hathaway’s archival Valentino Haute Couture number. So Stunning!  Loved the floral bustle. This Platinum by Priscilla of Boston has a similar back detail that’s quite royal.

Jennifer Lawrence’s  ultramodern Calvin Klein gown was streamlined and sleek. I think she looked phenomenal. However, I would have loved a big chunky necklace, bracelet, or earrings.  This Angel by Angel Sanchez gown features the same scoop neckline and simple-yet-stunning vibe.

Now don’t get me wrong, Matthew McConaughey looked as handsome as always. However, his gorgeous wife Camila Alves stole the spotlight.  Her feminine plunging neckline and  grand silhouette were stunning.  Her gown was by the designer Kaufman Franco, and this Amsale style.

Ok, this was the sweetest dress ever! Hailee Steinfeld’s stylist got it right on.  The True Grit star’s sweet, feminine blush tulle tea-length Marchesa gown is very similar to this gown by Tracy Reese for my new obsession:  Anthropologie’s BHLDN collection.

Halle Berry is always gorgeous.  Her Marchesa gown did not disappoint. This Monique Lhuillier style would be gorgeous for a formal nighttime wedding. Can you imagine this with candlelight??

Amy Adam’s coloring looked amazing. I was not a fan of the necklace and her hair. I would have loved a tight bun or up-do. Her    L’Wren Scott gown was stunning. This  Jenny Packham dress is very pretty, a definitely tough style to pull off.

Mila Kunis was my favorite look! The  Black Swan actress’s custom Elie Saab evening gown was such a jaw dropping look. I love the soft tone.  Claire Pettibone dress, which also features lace-framed décolletage.

I love this casual  Jenny Yoo gown (bottom left), and in the soft, romantic layers of this dress by Carolina Herrera (right).

This was twin sister Shannon’s favorite dress of the night! Too bad you are already married Shan 🙂 Mandy Moore looked like a live version of the Oscar statuette in her glittering gold Monique Lhuillier. Fitting this dress would be key! This gown is available in white as part of Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2011 bridal collection.

Cathy and Greg were married this February in an elegant ceremony at Sacred Heart Cathedral followed by a reception at Cobblestone Hall in the heart of Downtown Raleigh. Cathy and Greg are such a wonderful couple. They were so much fun to work with!

Love the lace detailing and delicate buttons on Cathy’s dress- vintage elements meet modern dress silhouette.

The ladies got ready at the fabulous Renaissance Hotel at North Hills and even had time to enjoy a little champagne before hand.

These elegant florals were designed by Fleurtations.

What an exquisite aisle to walk down!

The knee length plum colored bridesmaids’ dresses were so chic. Now that’s the sort of dress a bridesmaid really will wear again!

The bride’s bouquet along with the bridesmaids’ bouquets can serve double duty as reception decor by placing them in vases.  Plus this makes it easier to keep track of the bouquets in between dancing, eating, and greeting friends.

Floating candles in vases of varying sizes accented by flower petals makes for easy, elegant, romantic table decor.

The couple’s first dance.

Thank you Melissa Kay for these great images!!

Congratulations, Cathy & Greg!

xoxo, Erin
